Courtesy Visit from Central University of Finance and Economics

On 26th October 2015, a delegation from the Central University of Finance and Economics in China led by Vice President Jianping Shi visited Kobe University. The Central University of Finance and Economics is a comprehensive national university, originally established as the Central Institute of Finance and Economics in 1949. It is one of China’s national key universities and falls under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education. Approximately 16,000 students are currently enrolled there, studying at two campuses in Beijing.
After a meeting with Professor OGATA Yasushi (Director of the Kobe University Centre for Asian Studies) the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Professor INOUE Noriyuki (Executive Vice President in Charge of International Exchange). The meeting was attended from the Central University of Finance and Economics by Professor Guijun Li (Director of Research Office Administration), Professor Binkai Chen (Deputy Director of the School of Economics), and Professor Caishi Cai (Director of the Japan, Korea and ASEAN Student Exchange Center). The attendees from Kobe University were Professor HU Yunfang (Graduate School of Economics), Professor HUANG Lin (Graduate School of Business Administration) and Professor TAKAHASHI Kiyoshi (Graduate School of Business Administration). During the meeting, attendees had a lively discussion regarding future exchange opportunities between the two universities for students, researchers and professors. The Central University of Finance and Economics is located near Kobe University’s China Office , and further collaborations with Kobe University are expected.
