Erasmus+ staff mobility programme: Vilnius Gediminas Technical University Vice Dean visits Kobe University

Following the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme Agreement between Kobe University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Dr. Viktorija Žilinskaitė Vytienė (Vice Dean, Faculty of Creative Industries) visited Kobe University for four days starting 22 May.
The Kobe University Graduate School of Human Development and Environment and Graduate School of Engineering respectively concluded Inter-faculty Agreements of Academic Exchange with the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences, VGTU, on 26 March, 2014. Agreements on student exchange were also concluded on 24 February, 2016. Additionally, the Graduate School of System Informatics, as well as the Graduate School of Human Development and Environment and Graduate School of Engineering, concluded an Erasmus+ agreement with VGTU on 9 December, 2015. Erasmus+ is a European Union education funding programme that promotes exchange of students, teaching staff and administrative staff between universities.
In the last academic year, a VGTU faculty member visited Kobe University and a Kobe University faculty member visited VGTU. Future exchange activities between the two institutions are expected to include doctoral students in addition to faculty members.
During her four-day stay in Kobe, Dr. Žilinskaitė gave four lectures to freshman students at the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering and graduate students at the Graduate School of Engineering.
Between the classes, she visited the following faculty and staff members to talk about exchange activities between Kobe University and VGTU, her lectures at Kobe University, and possibilities for student exchange and research activities: Professor OHMURA Naoto (Vice-Dean, Graduate School of Engineering), Professor KITA Takashi (Vice-Dean, Graduate School of Engineering), Professor SUEKANE Shingo (Head, Department of Architecture), and Ms. ANNO Eri (Administrative staff, International Affairs Planning Division). She also met with Dr. KURIYAMA Naoko (Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Engineering) who will visit VGTU during this academic year, and discussed several issues such as the contents of lectures to be held there.
