Five of Kobe University’s Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS) students have been conducting their internship at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC, USA from February to March 2018. The students are in the Human Development Department in the Africa Region, East Asia and the Pacific Region, and South Asia Region at the Bank, and their tasks involve conducting data analysis and documenting reviews for background papers, as well as assisting preparation of the PowerPoint presentations. The interns also participate in televised meetings with the Bank’s clients, including high-level government officers in various developing countries, to learn more about the Bank’s operations.

Besides the World Bank, GSICS provides internship opportunities to its students across myriad organizations, including UNESCO, UNICEF, JICA and the Ministry of Education in Cambodia, Laos, and Uganda.
