Visit from the Estonian Woodworking Industry Development Cluster

On April 10, 12 members of the Estonian Woodworking Industry Development Cluster paid a visit to Professor INOUE Noriyuki (Executive Vice President in Charge of International Exchange) and Professor OGAWA Matsuto (Executive Vice President in Charge of Research and Industry-University Cooperation). The meeting was also attended by Professor YOSHIDA Ken-ichi (Executive Director of the Kobe University Brussels European Center and Professor at the Graduate School of Science, Technology and Innovation) and Professor MANNEN Hideyuki (Graduate School of Agricultural Science).

The meeting began with a few words from delegation head Mr. Henrik VÄLJA (Managing Direction of the Estonian Forest and Wood Industries Association) expressing gratitude for the opportunity to visit Kobe University. To follow, Executive Vice President INOUE introduced Kobe University and its activities in Europe, and Executive Vice President OGAWA outlined the University’s collaborative projects with industry. Professor YOSHIDA then introduced the Graduate School of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Professor MANNEN explained his research on Kobe beef. The attendees asked various questions, and delegates from the Estonian universities showed interest in international exchange with Kobe University.

Before the visit, the Student PR Ambassadors gave the delegation a campus tour, introducing the history and organization of our University.

Kobe University will continue to strengthen our cooperation with Europe in education and research.
