Organization of Advanced Science and Technology

The Organization of Advanced Science and Technology consists of a Core Research Division and five associated Research Centers. The Core Research Division is made up of the 21 specific research teams and the coordinators from Kobe University’s four schools: Science, Engineering, Agriculture, and Maritime Sciences.

The Core Research Division established these 21 strategic research teams to further develop the harmony between interdisciplinarity and integrity in the university’s education and research system, as well as to specify the core research fields, and to develop an interdisciplinary hub.

The Organization of Advanced Science and Technology, which cooperates closely with Kobe University’s four independent schools, and oversees the university’s major Research Centers, is attracting a considerable amount of attention throughout Japan as the first organization to adopt this new type of organizational structure.
