Center-Fusion-Type Education System to Foster Professional Clinical Experts

Graduate School of Medicine

Unlike the previous researcher-training program, which only trained students to be experts in a specific field of medical science and then making sure that they have enough experience to work independently as a researcher, this program is designed to strengthen clinical expertise with an aim to foster research-minded professional clinical experts.

Such regional characteristics as the clinical expert accreditation center for Kobe University affiliated hospitals, one of Hyogo Prefecture's highly advanced medical treatment center, and the university with a center for emerging/re-emerging infectious disease in a foreign country are organically fused into the following clinical courses:

  1. Professional clinical expert accreditation course (compulsory subject),
  2. Advanced clinical skills (Selective compulsory subject),
  3. International clinical skills (Selective compulsory subject).

Eligible applicants are those who have:

  1. Finished at least 4 years of clinical training after graduating from the school of medicine,
  2. Already decided on which field to specialize in,
  3. Submitted a research proposal in the second semester of the first year of their specialties.

Out of the submitted research proposals, 10 people will be selected for the program. The selected members will be given a research grant and accepted as RA from their second year.
