The Education of Art Management to Restore Urbiculture
Graduate School of Intercultural Studies,
Graduate School of Human Development and Environment
This is a joint project with the Faculty of Human Development. The project intends to form a bridge between the local community's cultural activities and the government's new cultural policy. The following three stages of education will strengthen cooperation amongst industry-government-university, and develop an art management education curriculum for the restoration of urbiculture to the Hanshin district.
The 1st stage is to develop a "new type of education" to foster art management experts. The course is open to all students of the university. The content will not only be about art, but the relationship between art and the society for the course is aimed at fostering people who will create and spread the joy of art.
The 2nd stage is to foster art managers who recognize the public value of art/culture. The Faculty of Intercultural Studies will be in charge of fostering art managers at this stage. Future experts will be groomed for positions at cultural administrative organizations, art and culture organizations, public cultural facilities, corporate art/culture divisions, cultural non-profit organizations (NPO), etc.
The 3rd stage is the fostering of artists and art/cultural educators who have mastered art management, and possess a wide social perspective. The target students are those who major in art and the education of art in the Faculty of Human Development. To foster future artists and facilitators of art, the study of art management will be included into their curriculum.
