Forming the heart of a global network

Kobe University will use its location in an outward-looking international port city to advance further as an international academic institution, defying the boundaries of academic fields and embodying the ideal of harmony in theory and practice.

To increase the University’s global competitiveness, we are developing international partnerships using three organizations covering key regions: the Centre for EU Studies, the Centre for Asian Studies, and the Office of the Americas (all under the Institute of Promoting International Exchange Programs). Our globalization initiatives include establishing Kobe University as a base for academic exchange that links students and researchers, for instance from Europe, Asia and the Americas; and using the University’s location to become a contact point that connects overseas research institutes with Kobe-based companies, public and private institutes. Through these initiatives, we aim to realize Kobe University’s role as a truly international “hub campus”.
