Mr. Lluis Maria de Puig, the President of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) visited Kobe University on November 12. The main purpose of his visit was to deliver a lecture to the Faculty of Law students.

In his lecture, he introduced the history of PACE and its role in Europe. He also shared views on world economics, global warming, and death penalty based on the official PACE standpoints on human rights, democracy and the rule of law. Over 200 students listened attentively and actively participated in the Q and A session that followed.

After the lecture, Mr. de Puig paid a courtesy visit on Vice President/Director of International Exchange. Their discussion centered on the higher education reform in Europe and ended with talks of further collaboration in research and education .
