Vice President/Director of international exchange Dr. NAKAMURA Chiharu was invited to speak at Fudan University’s international symposium, “Green Revolution and World Order”.
Dr. NAKAMURA was the only foreign guest invited to speak at the opening ceremony. The first session began with his speech titled, “Green and Clean Revolution through Collaboration of Agriculture and Engineering”. He also gave a congratulatory remark at the Inauguration Ceremony of the Fudan University contemporary China Research Center.
Fudan University, established in 1905, is one of the best universities in China and a partner of Kobe University since 2008. The symposium was held one day after COP15 closed in Copenhagen under a similar theme of finding ways to resolve destruction of the environment. Over 80 scholars from the fields of natural science, social science, environmental conservation science, bio-genetics, physics, mathematics, and medicine attended the symposium. Also present were well-known scholars from China, Japan, the U.S., Germany, Belgium, India, and New Zealand and the Vice Rector of the United Nations University.
Following the symposium, Vice President NAKAMURA met with Vice President XU Zheng who is in charge of the Fudan University Foreign Affairs Office and the Department of Liaison and Development. The two representatives discussed future possibilities in academic and research exchanges. Professor WANG Ke of the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies accompanied Dr. NAKAMURA on the two-day event.
