Kobe University established a new graduate school, the Graduate School of System Informatics on April 1, 2010. System informatics is a discipline that strives to contribute to the development, processing, and utilization of meaningful information existing within a large-scale, complex computation technology covering a variety of areas from nature and engineering to society.
The Graduate School of System Informatics at Kobe University offers a coherent education system covering both the Masters and Ph.D. programs in System Science, Information Science, and Computational Science. The doctoral degree in Computational Science is the first of its kind in Japan.
