The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has just raised the warning level from "advice against all non-essential travel" to "strongly urge postponement of travel" to the capital city of Bangkok and the following provinces in Thailand: Narathiwat Province, Yala Province, Pattani Province, and part of Songkhla Province.

The unrest may last for quite sometime therefore it is highly advised to postpone all travel to Thailand until further notice. However if you must go, have all the facts on hand by checking the news and the Internet and consult your travel agency before making the decision to go.
