Students who wish to conduct specific research on non-credit basis may enter Kobe University as research students by obtaining an approval in advance from their prospective advisor/professor. Most international students entering as research students do so to enhance their scholastic ability to the level sufficient for admission to master’s or doctoral programs offered by respective graduate schools.
Eligibility
Foreign nationals who have successfully completed the equivalent of 16 years (for Master's) or 18 years (for Doctor's) of school education or the equivalent. Students who are expected to graduate by March 31 of the year they are entering a Japanese university are also eligible.
Selection Method
Students are selected based on the submitted documents and an interview. However, the interview might be omitted for applicants residing overseas.
