To all International Students
Executive Vice President in charge of International Exchange
NAKAMURA Chiharu
A massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami struck the Tohoku region and many neighboring areas on March 11, 2011. It also caused the accident at the nuclear power plants in Fukushima Prefecture, the power outage and confusion in public transportation throughout the Tokyo metropolitan district.
As an international student in a foreign country, I am sure you are feeling very anxious. Your family back home must also be worried about you. Although the damage to the stricken area is great, no major disruption to daily lives occurred in Kobe because of its geographical distance. Please stay calm.
The new semester will begin in April as scheduled.
Please make sure that your information is accurate by checking various news sources including TV, radio, newspaper, the Internet, etc. For your convenience, we have compiled a list of websites below.
If you are feeling a strong sense of anxiety due to the earthquake, please contact the Medical Center for Student Health for consultation. If you wish to return home for spring break, make sure you leave after you have made the necessary arrangements.
