This subject covers a wide range of research fields on the origin and evolution of the earth and the solar system. Our researchers carry out fieldwork recording sounds from stones or geological strata, imagine the early stages of the solar system through impact experiments using ice and stones, try to reproduce an atmosphere of a planet in a computer, and explore the origin of life from molecular motions. Curiosity is the engine of our enthusiasm, and our department is full of people who are passionate about their research. We believe this atmosphere is key to interesting and rewarding studies.
