Master's Program

The Graduate School of Economics, Kobe University fosters individuals who can conduct research in economics or work as professionals with a high level of expertise on the basis of the four objectives set in the Degree Awarding Policy of Kobe University, and a spirit of integrity, freedom, and cooperation which has been handed down since the establishment of Kobe Higher Commercial School, the predecessor. The Graduate School of Economics awards master's degrees in line with the following policies.

  • Students are encouraged to acquire the following abilities by the time of the completion of the program.
    • In-depth knowledge based on a broad perspective and specialized knowledge in economics, so as to proactively work in academia or society.
    • The ability to analyze and logically think of various social phenomena on the basis of economics from professional viewpoints.
  • Students shall study at the Graduate School of Economics for the specified period of time, earn the required credits for completion, and pass the reviews and examinations prescribed by the Graduate School.

Doctoral Program

The Graduate School of Economics, Kobe University fosters individuals who can independently conduct research in economics or work as professionals with a higher level of expertise on the basis of the four objectives set in the Degree Awarding Policy of Kobe University, and a spirit of integrity, freedom, and cooperation which has been handed down since the establishment of Kobe Higher Commercial School, the predecessor. The Graduate School of Economics awards doctoral degrees in line with the following policies.

  • Students are encouraged to acquire the following abilities by the time of the completion of the program.
    • A higher level of expertise in economics, so as to proactively work in academia or society.
    • The ability to individually set and pursue creative research themes, surpassing the conventional research framework.
  • Students shall study at the Graduate School of Economics for the specified period of time, earn the required credits for completion and pass the reviews and examinations prescribed by the Graduate School.
