The Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, Kobe University promotes deeper understanding of maritime issues and fosters individuals with leadership skills who have outstanding international awareness, an excellent sense of humanity, abundant creativity and high levels of expertise. Through such activities, the Graduate School seeks to protect the oceans and contribute to the development of maritime sciences and the international maritime society.

Toward these objectives, the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences provides education meeting the highest international standards. The Graduate School awards degrees in line with the following two policies.

  • Students shall study at the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences for the specified period of time, earn the credits required for completion, and pass the reviews and examinations prescribed by the Graduate School.
  • Students at the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences are encouraged to enhance their international awareness, sense of humanity, creativity and expertise, through the Graduate School curriculum.
