In light of increasing global geopolitical challenges, is the Antarctic Treaty and its legal system (ATS) still fit for the purpose of maintaining Antarctica as a natural reserve devoted to peace and science?
Looking ahead towards future meetings (to be held in Finland in 2023, Italy in 2025 and Japan in 2026), world-renowned experts will discuss whether or not the ATS has the capacity to continue as the dominant form of governance in the Antarctic.
