Between July 11 and 15, a group of 19 students majoring in natural science areas from our partner universities participated in the short-term summer program “One week experience in Kobe University”. The program was organized by six natural science graduate schools within Kobe University and supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) “Sakura Science Plan” and Kobe University funding for international exchange programs.
As well as lectures in English, the students experienced sea training on the University’s training ship Fukaemaru, participated in hands-on agricultural training at the Food Resources Education and Research Center, and visited the K supercomputer and SPring-8 facilities. On the final day of the week-long program, Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering Professor TOMIYAMA Akio presented each student with a certificate of completion.
