A researcher in Kobe University's Graduate School of Maritime Sciences is one of the world's top 10 volcanic geomorphology researchers

A team of researchers from Spain and various countries in South America has published research on the influential leaders in the field of volcanic geomorphology, and Professor Gomez of the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences was placed 7th in the world, making him the number 1 in Japan in his field. According to Geosciences, the same research also places Japan in 9th place globally in terms of publication volume in the field of volcanic geomorphology.

To this news, Prof. Gomez commented that if it were the Olympics he would be far from getting a medal.
