Graduate School of System Informatics Develops a Sensor to Detect Illegal Access to IC Cards

A joint research team of Kobe University and Tohoku University has succeeded in developing a sensor which detects illegal access to the important information stored on IC cards. Among participating team members from the Kobe University Graduate School of System Informatics were Project Assistant Professor MIURA Noriyuki and Professor NAGATA Makoto. Associate Professor HAYASHI Yuichi, Associate Professor HOMMA Naofumi and Professor AOKI Takafumi from the Tohoku University Graduate School of Information Sciences also participated. The presentation was given at the VLSI Symposium, a world-renowned international conference in the semiconductor field, in Hawaii on June 13, 2014. The study, one of the symposium’s highlighted papers, was also introduced in the press release for the event.
