The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) is a public research university in the United States established in 1885. It has six colleges – Business, Computing, Design, Engineering, Liberal Arts, and Sciences – and approximately 25,000 students currently study at its campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The university is particularly strong in the fields of engineering and computing, ranking 22 in computing in the 2015 Academic Ranking of World Universities. Georgia Tech also placed at 41 in the overall rankings for Times Higher Education 2016, and 84 in the QS World University Rankings.
For this lecture, Kobe University is honored to welcome two guest speakers from Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts: Dean of the College Dr. Jacqueline Royster and specialist in Japanese politics Dr. Brian Woodall. The speakers will introduce Georgia Tech and discuss the university’s initiatives for internationalization. This lecture is open to all Kobe University faculty members and administrative staff.
