We are pleased to announce that the Kobe University Brussels Workshop and Brokerage Event ‘New Opportunities for EU-Japan Research & Innovation Cooperation’ will take place online on 21 October 2021. This event is jointly organised by Kobe University and VUB with support from Waseda and Kansai Univesities and the Universities Informal Liaison Offices Network (UnILiON).

The objective of this ‘hands-on’ event is to enhance research and innovation cooperation between Japan and EU by highlighting the concrete opportunities offered by EU and Japanese funding programmes. It will look, in particular, at emerging synergies between Horizon Europe, and Japanese and other programmes, and at possible new instruments developed from the perspective of a future Association of Japan to Horizon Europe.

The event follows-up and complements the 11th Kobe University-VUB Annual Symposium ‘Green Horizons, Sustainable Futures: EU-Japan Research for Climate-Prepared, Resilient Societies’  , which will be held on the previous day.
