On April 13, Professor FUJITA Seiichi, Executive Vice President in charge of Education, and Professor INOUE Noriyuki, Executive Vice President in charge of International Exchange, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Tran Tho Dat, President of the National Economics University (NEU), in Hanoi, Vietnam. Among the participants from NEU were Professor Dr. Pham Hong Choung, Vice President, and Dr. Pham Truong Hoang, Director of the International Relations Department.

NEU, a national university established in 1956, is one of the partner universities of Kobe University. Formerly known as the Financial Economics School, the university changed its name to the current one in 1985. NEU consists of 15 faculties including International Education and Law. It is located in the center of Hanoi, and approximately 50,000 students are enrolled at the university. NEU and Kobe University signed an inter-university academic exchange agreement in February 2007, and an inter-faculty student exchange agreement with the Graduate School of Economics in July 2013.

At this meeting, future exchange activities between the two universities were discussed, notably the development of joint degree programs for both faculties and graduate schools.
