May 29, 2015

On May 16, Kobe University participated in the Japan Universities Education Fair which took place at Shandong Normal University in China.

The fair was hosted by the Beijing Office of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Kiheikai, a Japanese organization in China promoting higher education exchange activities between Japan and China. Japanese universities and research institutions with branch offices in China also collaborated.

The fair began with general introductions about each participating university by its staff member. Approximately 200 participants attentively listened to each of them, which indicated a high level of interest among Chinese students to study in Japan. The participating universities then provided individual consultation to students visiting their respective booths. Kobe University welcomed approximately 100 prospective students. They asked a variety of questions. Among other topics, they were interested in application details for graduate programs at Kobe University, information regarding entrance examinations, procedures for contacting academic advisors, financial advice regarding scholarships and living costs in Japan, and career planning after studying abroad. Prospective students actively engaged with Kobe University China Office staff in gathering this information.
