President Takeda visits Rector of Saint-Louis University

November 17, 2016

On November 7, Kobe University President Professor TAKEDA Hiroshi visited Professor Pierre Jadoul, Rector of Saint-Louis University.

Kobe University concluded an Inter-University Academic Exchange Agreement with Saint-Louis University in 2014, and we are actively involved in research and education exchange including student exchange between Saint-Louis University and the Kobe University Graduate Schools of Intercultural Studies, Law, and Economics. On October 12, 2016, during the visit to Japan of Their Highnesses the Belgian King and Queen to celebrate 150 years of Japan-Belgium friendship, both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further expand exchange in a ceremony attended by both members of the Belgian royal family.

The meeting between the President and the Rector was also attended by Professor OGAWA Matsuto (Executive Vice President in Charge of Research and Industry-University Cooperation), Professor INOUE Noriyuki (Executive Vice President in Charge of International Exchange and Internal Control), Professor YUI Kiyomitsu (Advisor to the President in Charge of International Collaboration), and Professor YOSHIDA Ken-ichi (Executive Director of Kobe University Brussels European Centre). After mutual updates on current exchange between the institutions, they discussed the potential for a closer partnership including a faculty exchange program. This was followed by a meeting with current and prospective exchange students. During the visit, both sides agreed to further our cooperation and strengthen this partnership.
