PhD Workshop China 2016 in Beijing and Shanghai

November 30, 2016

On 19-22 November, Kobe University participated in PhD Workshop China 2016 (on 19-20 November in Beijing and on 22 November in Shanghai). The workshop has been held every year since 2009 with the aim of facilitating the exchange of information between Chinese students interested in pursuing their PhDs abroad and overseas institutions including universities. This year there were approximately 60 participating institutions from all over the world, and Kobe University participated in the workshop for the second time.

The workshop was focused around the individual booths of participating institutions. More than 150 prospective students visited our booth over the three days and we provided them with individual consultations. Faculty and staff from Kobe University answered a variety of questions about the details of research projects, information regarding entrance examinations, skills and qualifications required, and financial matters such as scholarships and tuition fees. Prospective students who visited our booth asked questions with enthusiasm, and during the event the booth was busy with students lining up for consultations. We look forward to an increased number of international students from China enrolling at Kobe University as a result of our participation in this workshop.
