On November 22, representatives from Foreign Trade University Vice President Nguyen Thu Thuy and Japanese Faculty Lecturer Nguyen Thi Than An visited Kobe University. The delegation met with Kobe University members Professor Noriyuki Inoue (Executive Vice President in Charge of International Exchange), Professor Seiichi Fujita (Executive Vice President in Charge of Education), Professor Noritsugu Nakanishi (Dean of the Graduate School of Economics), Professor Tamotsu Nakamura (Graduate School of Economics), Professor Kuanghi Chen (Dean of the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies) and Project Assistant Professor Tatsuya Maisawa (Center for Asian Academic Collaboration).
Foreign Trade University (FTU) is one of Vietnam’s leading universities. In 2007 Kobe University and Foreign Trade University concluded an inter-university agreement for academic exchange, and we are currently in the process of implementing a double degree program in the social sciences fields. Kobe University also established the Hanoi Liaison Base, our third overseas office, at Foreign Trade University in 2015. During the meeting, the participants engaged in a fruitful discussion about future initiatives related to the double degree program, the activities of the Hanoi Liaison Base, and potential opportunities for cooperation.
We believe that this visit will contribute to the further expansion of mutual exchange in research and education with Foreign Trade University, as well as other universities in Vietnam and Asia.
