On December 7, a delegation from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law visited Professor Noriyuki Inoue (Executive Vice President in Charge of International Exchange). The delegation was led by Weng Gui Wang (Vice-President) accompanied by Dan Hu (Associate Dean, School of Foreign Languages), Yuan Yuan (Senior Officer, Department of Japanese, School of Foreign Languages), Xinping Zhou (Vice-Senior Officer, Department of Japanese, School of Foreign Languages) and Man Yang (Secretary, International Exchange Department). From Kobe University the meeting was also attended by Professor Lin Huang (Vice-Director of the Center for Asian Academic Collaboration) and Project Associate Professor Yoshiko Koishi (Program Coordination Section, Center for International Education).

Zhongnan University of Economics and Law is one of China’s top ten universities specializing in finance, economics and law under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. In 2007 Kobe University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law concluded an inter-university agreement for academic exchange.
During the meeting the participants discussed potential initiatives for future collaboration, and both sides suggested deepening the partnership through student and faculty mobility. Executive Vice President Inoue introduced some of Kobe University’s international education programs, such as the GMAPs (English-taught master’s degrees in Economics, Law and Business Administration) and the Educational Program on Current Japan. Vice-President Wang spoke about the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Center for Studies of Intellectual Property Rights, and the facilities offered at their sizeable Law School.
Kobe University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law share many common features, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership further.
