On March 11, Professor Seiichi Fujita (Executive Vice President in Charge of Education) and Professor Noriyuki Inoue (Executive Vice President in Charge of International Exchange) visited our partner institution Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, Vietnam, and met with Vice President Nguyen Thu Thuy and Vice President Dao Thi Thu Giang.

Founded in 1960, Foreign Trade University is a national university with campuses in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh. It offers academic programs covering a wide range of fields including economics, business, finance, law and foreign languages. In April 2015 Kobe University established the Hanoi Liaison Base within Foreign Trade University as our third overseas office.

The meeting was also attended from Foreign Trade University by Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thi Ly (Dean of the School of Economics and International Business), Dr. Cao Thi Hong Vinh (Lecturer in the Faculty of Graduate Studies), International Office Director Vu Thi Hien, and International Office Deputy Director Dao Thi Thu Ha. The participants discussed the future operations of the Hanoi Liaison Base and exchange between our institutions, particularly the Double Degree Program. Kobe University representatives also talked about what forms potential exchange should take in discussions with Dean of the Faculty of Japanese Tran Thi Thu Thuy.

Following the meeting, after both the Executive Vice Presidents were introduced by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh An (Lecturer in the Faculty of Japanese), they gave a presentation on the Kobe University Double Degree Program to students from the Faculty of Japanese, the School of Economics and International Business, and the night courses in Economics and Law. The presentation was followed by an active Q&A session.
Through the Double Degree Program and other student exchange initiatives, we look forward to an increase in active exchange between our institutions.
