Global Network Program (GNP) office will organize a GNP Symposium.
In recent years, as the international community has faced various challenges such as war, disasters, climate change, economic inequality, and infectious diseases, the social importance of graduate schools training experts in international cooperation has grown significantly.
At the same time, graduate schools in the humanities and social sciences in Japan continue to face their own difficulties, including declining enrollment, the problem of over-doctorates, and the postdoctoral issue.
To address these societal needs and challenges, Kobe University launched the Global Network Program to target doctoral students, in October 2024. The program is sponsored by MEXT and brings together the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies and the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, with a focus on “Achieving Sustainable Development” and “New Value Co-creating.”
The Global Network Program will run from October 2024 to March 2030, and aims to nurture highly skilled professionals, including 1. Researchers, 2. International civil servants, and 3. Senior government officials in developing countries. This will be achieved through a collaborative learning environment and research guidance that utilizes global networks. Partners include overseas universities, international organizations, and government organizations in developing countries.
To mark the program’s second year, a symposium will be held to share progress, achievements, and research results, which will be presented by participating students.
We sincerely look forward to your participation.
