The Ethnographic Turn in Translation Studies

Event Description

This seminar will be held as a public lecture and serves as the first session of the GNP intensive course, An Introduction to Cultural Translation (1C880). The seminar explores the role of translation and intercultural mediation in the construction of cultures and the formation of individual and collective identities. It also introduces the historical development of Translation and Interpreting Studies, examining how translation has functioned not only as a linguistic practice but also as a process of cultural transmission and transformation.
