The Graduate School of Human Development and Environment aims to produce graduates who 1) contribute to fundamental, applied, and practical research and education activities on human development and supporting environments in a proactive and self-motivated manner and 2) apply their advanced expertise to play a leading role to advance such research and education activities.

The Graduate School achieves these objectives by accepting students according to the policy below.

Master’s Program

Applicants are sought with the following qualities and abilities:

  2. The qualities and abilities required to identify new issues based on a keen awareness of and in-depth expertise in the various challenges related to human development and supporting environments

  3. The advanced intellectual ability needed to analyze existing issues in a multilateral and multi-layer manner and to systematically conceptualize and theorize such issues
    [Required competences: knowledge, technique, critical thinking, sound judgement, expression, initiative, cooperativeness, interest, and motivation]
  4. The ability to propose concrete measures in order to solve modern issues and respond flexibly
    [Required competences: knowledge, technique, critical thinking, sound judgement, expression, initiative, cooperativeness, interest, and motivation]

Basic Policy for the Selection of Students:

To select students in accordance with the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy of the Master’s Program of the Graduate School of Human Development and Environment, each applicant’s competencies are evaluated. The General entrance examination, Special entrance examination for working adults, and Special entrance examination for international students comprehensively assess knowledge, technique, critical thinking, sound judgement, expression, initiative, cooperativeness, interest, and motivation.

Doctoral Program
