Master’s Program

The Master’s Program of the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, which consists of the Global Transportation Sciences, Ocean Safety Systems Science, and Marine Engineering Divisions, provides a foundation for developing potential leaders who have a deep understanding of maritime sciences while fostering internationalism, a cooperative personality, creativity, and expertise. The graduate school seeks the following students.

Applicants are sought with the following qualities and abilities:

  1. Students with the basic academic abilities, communication skills, and scientific thinking that are required to study in each division.

  2. Students are highly motivated to contribute towards maritime alliances and global activities in the industry, making full use of their expertise.

Basic Policy for the Selection of Students:

To select students in line with the Master’s Program Diploma and Curriculum Policies, the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences assesses each applicant’s competence, i.e. their knowledge, technique, critical thinking, good judgement, expression, initiative, cooperativeness, interest, and motivation through the following entrance examinations: General entrance examination, Recommendation-based entrance examination, and Special entrance examination for working adults and international students.

Doctoral Program

The Doctoral Program of the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, which consists of the Global Transportation Sciences, Ocean Safety Systems Science, and Marine Engineering Divisions, provides a foundation for developing potential leaders who have a deep understanding of maritime sciences while fostering internationalism, a cooperative personality, creativity, and expertise.   1. Students who can design and carry out highly original and creative research and conduct this research enthusiastically while drawing upon basic academic abilities, research abilities, and presentation techniques equivalent to expertise attained in the Master’s Program.
