On March 20, Her Excellency Roxane de Bilderling, Ambassador of the Embassy of Belgium to Japan, paid a visit to President FUJISAWA Masato.

Their meeting was also attended by the following people: Elisa Castaldo (Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Belgium to Japan), William Delsemme (Economic and Commercial Counsellor for the Brussels Capital Region at Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Tokyo), Olivier Douheret (Wallonia Export-Investment Agency in Japan), Kobe University’s Executive Vice President NAKAMURA Tamotsu (Director of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships), YOSHIDA Ken-ichi (Executive Director of the Europe & Africa Division/Professor of the Graduate School of Science, Technology and Innovation), HANADA Eva (Associate Professor of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships) and IMURA Takashi (Director of the International Department).

President Fujisawa gave a welcoming address and outlined the university’s activities, focusing on those conducted by Kobe University Brussels European Centre (KUBEC). Ambassador de Bilderling talked about the Belgian Economic Mission, which took place last December, and expressed her expectations regarding the resumption of student and researcher exchanges as well as future collaboration between Belgian institutions and Kobe University.

Kobe University will continue to promote educational and research collaboration with Belgian academic institutions.
