Who needs to take the medical check-ups :
- All new students starting on October 1, 2025. This excludes those who were already at the university in April (e.g., as a research student) and have taken this year’s medical check-up.
- All new students who enrolled after the last day for student medical check-ups in April/May 2025 (which was April 23 for students of the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences, May 9 for students of the Graduate School of Medicine, May 14 for students of the Graduate School of Health Sciences, and April 15 for everyone else).
- Those who enrolled in April 2025 but were unable to enter Japan to take the medical check-up for new students at that time (limited to those who can get confirmation from their Academic Affairs Section that they were unable to take the medical check-up for new students due to the timing of their entry into Japan).
- Those who were not in a condition to take the medical check-ups by the last day for student medical check-ups in April/May 2025 (limited to those who are studying abroad, on leave of absence, etc., and whose can get confirmation from their Academic Affairs Section that they were unable to take the medical check-up for new students).

About the examination method: There is no limit to the number of participants, so please come at a time that is convenient for you within the specified time frame.
Please adhere to the reception hours.
However, please note that the process may take more than 30 minutes during peak hours.
Examination details: Urine test, vision test, blood pressure, height/weight, chest X-ray, consultation
Things to bring:
1. Medical check-up slip
※ Be sure to fill in all required information, including your name, within the thick borders and bring it with you. (There is a back side.)
※ Students who were unable to take the Spring Medical Check-up this year due to study abroad, leave of absence, etc., will be given a Medical Check-up Sheet at the medical check-up venue.
2. Form for submitting measles and rubella certificate
(Please download the form here, print it, fill it out, attach the copy of the certificate(s) and bring it with you.)
※ Except in cases where the application has already been submitted.
3. Container with urine sample
(Urine specimen containers will be distributed by your department's academic affairs office.If you do not have one, you can request one at the medical check-up venue on the day of the medical check-up.)
※Collect the sample in the morning of the medical check-up day. Collection is generally not possible at the medical check-up venue.
4. Student ID card
Precautions
1. Wear a plain T-shirt (no buttons or embellishments). One-piece garments or undergarments are not permitted. (This is to allow for chest X-rays to be taken while clothed.)
・Necklaces and jewelry are also not permitted.
・Please do not wear underwear with metal or plastic wires or similar components during the X-ray examination.
2. If you have difficulty communicating in Japanese, please come with a tutor or interpreter.
3. Students who do not take the medical check-ups at Kobe University must take an equivalent medical checkup at a hospital or a clinic and submit the certificate to the Medical Center for Student Health. Students who fail to take the Kobe University medical check-ups or submit a certificate may lose their credits, be deregistered from classes and not have their attendance recognized for the year in question.
4. The Medical Center for Student Health will issue medical check-ups certificates to students who require them for scholarship applications etc. provided that the student received the designated medical check-ups at the Medical Center for Student Health.
5. To prevent outbreaks of measles and rubella on campus, you must submit a certificate of vaccination or an antibody test results certificate issued by a medical institution when you attend your medical check-ups. Fill out form ② for submitting measles and rubella certificates and attach the certificate to this form.
Online survey(Mental health self-report)
In addition to the in-person medical check-up, an online survey will be conducted.
Please complete the below survey within the given period.
Survey period: 10/21 (Tue) - 11/14 (Fri)
Intended for: Students eligible for the Fall Medical Check-up and students who did not complete the survey during the Spring Medical Check-up.
※A “Record of cold-like symptoms” or a “Record of novel coronavirus infection etc.” are not required.
※You will need a Kobe University account in order to log in.
