On September 5, Nathan Murata, professor and dean of the College of Education at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UH Mānoa), called on Executive Vice President TAMAKI Hisashi, director of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships. Also in attendance from UH Mānoa were Xu Di, professor at the College of Education, Kaori Burkart, director of International Programs, and Jordan Antonio, a doctoral student at the College of Education.
From Kobe University, the meeting was attended by UCHIDA Yuichiro, professor and dean of the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), OGAWA Keiichi, professor at GSICS, NAKAHARA Masato, project associate professor at GSICS, TOKUOKA Mami, project assistant professor at GSICS, YAGI Ayumu, project assistant professor at GSICS, and HANADA Eva, associate professor at the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships.
During the meeting, both universities reaffirmed the importance of strengthening their collaboration within the Global Network Program*. Murata emphasized Kobe University’s role as a key partner in the future restructuring and expansion of academic programs at UH Mānoa’s College of Education. Executive Vice Tamaki introduced the Kobe University V. School Future Society and Energy PBL Program, which has been held annually in Hawaii since 2022. With a focus on building on these initiatives, Kobe University looks forward to furthering more exchanges with UH Mānoa in both academic and educational fields.
This visit is expected to further deepen exchanges between the two universities in the future.
