On April 20, 2026, Dr. Peiling Wang, professor at the School of Information Sciences, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, met with Executive Vice President TAMAKI Hisashi, director of the Office for Promoting International Cooperation.
Also in attendance were TANAKA Junko, MURAO Hajime and INOUE Hirotaka, who are all professors from Kobe University's Graduate School of Intercultural Studies.
During the meeting, Executive Vice President Tamaki welcomed Dr. Wang and provided an overview of the Office for Promoting International Cooperation, which began operations on April 1 following a reorganization of university offices dealing with global affairs. The group discussed ways to promote student exchange programs further by expanding the existing academic exchange agreement between the two universities.
Dr. Wang also visited UMEYA Kiyoshi, dean of the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, and USUI Hideyuki, dean of the Graduate School of System Informatics.
This visit is expected to facilitate further exchanges between the two universities.
