How do human societies adapt to climate change? The Research Institute for Humanity and Nature is leading a large-scale multidisciplinary project to investigate the relationship between historical events and climate change (Project Leader: Professor Takeshi Nakatsuka).
Kobe University Research Institute for Economics and Business Administration researchers Associate Professor Yasuo Takatsuki and Associate Professor Masahiko Shibamoto are members of this project. Associate Professor Takatsuki talked to the BBC about his role examining rice-based futures markets in early modern Japan.
