December 20, 2022

To all students,

We would like to inform you of the following guidance from the Cabinet Secretariat’s ‘Office for COVID-19 and Other Emerging Infectious Disease Control’. This is especially aimed at those who are returning to their hometown during the Christmas/New Year period and will be in direct contact with many people including elderly relatives.

  • You are advised to take a PCR test both before and after your trip.
  • In particular, those who have yet to receive the coronavirus vaccine that targets the omicron variant are advised to receive this vaccine and get tested (see below).

Those who plan to follow the above advice during the Christmas and New Year period (from December 24 to January 12) may be able to get tested for free at one of over 13,000 testing sites nationwide.

In addition, there will be more temporary free testing sites set up in and around major train stations and airports etc. over the period.
