On May 29, Gretchen Neisler, vice provost for International Affairs, and Professor Abebe Rorissa of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville called on Executive Vice President TAMAKI Hisashi, director of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships.
From Kobe University, the meeting was attended by participants including USUI Hideyuki, dean of the Graduate School of System Informatics, OHTA Chikara, vice dean of the Graduate School of System Informatics, UESAKI Maiko, associate professor at the Graduate School of System Informatics, Patrick Finnerty, assistant professor at the Graduate School of System Informatics, TANAKA Junko, professor at the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies and the director of the Americas Division of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships, and INOUE Hirotaka, professor at the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies.
During the meeting, after a greeting from Executive Vice President Tamaki, the delegation provided a brief overview of their university and exchanged views on industry-university cooperation. Discussions also covered mutual exchange of students and faculty, joint research and collaboration for a symposium. Both universities expressed their intention to further develop their collaborative relationship in the future.
This visit is expected to further deepen exchanges between the two universities.
