On August 28, a delegation from the Agency for Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Kobe University. The delegation included Mr. Azamov Temur Narzullaevich, adviser to the director on Digitalization and Implementation of Artificial Intelligence; Mr. Khudoykuliev Khamrobek Rajabboevich, head of the Department for Financing Scientific and Innovation Activities, International Cooperation and Grants; Mr. Sardor Nazirov, director of the Scientific and Technical Information Center; and Ms. Aziza Yokubjonova, leading specialist of the Department for International Databases and Open Scientific Resources at the Scientific and Technical Information Center.
From Kobe University, the meeting was attended by Executive Vice President TAMAKI Hisashi, director of the Office for Promoting International Cooperation; Executive Vice President KITA Takashi; and KONDO Narihiko, vice director of the Office for Promoting International Cooperation.
During the meeting, Mr. Azamov expressed the Agency’s interest in initiating collaboration with Kobe University through joint research and exchanges among young researchers.
Mr. Nazirov introduced the Scientific and Technical Information Center, which collects and analyzes data on researchers, publications and research outcomes. He also introduced a short-term research internship program for young researchers including doctoral students, which provides financial support for research stays of one to six months at overseas universities. The program is already offered at universities in the United States, Malaysia and other countries, and it was also mentioned that Kobe University could be considered as a potential host institution. The participants also exchanged views on potential areas of collaboration in data science, including the possibility of conducting joint research.
This visit is expected to further deepen exchanges between the two countries in the future.
