This program started in 2013 in Seoul in cooperation with Hanyang University. Since then, SALAD (School of Asian Law and Dispute Management) was held every summer in Kobe, accepting students from various jurisdictions all over Asia, in the spirit of promoting mutual trust based on the understanding and appreciation of various valued deriving from the sustainable diversity of social cultures in Asia.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kobe SALAD was not held on the campus of Kobe University in 2020. Kobe SALAD Online 2021 Spring was the first-ever virtual Kobe SALAD.

Summer Program in Japanese Language and Culture 2021
Program introduction
Since 2003, this Summer Program has been provided for students studying Japanese at overseas Universities sharing academic partnerships with Kobe University. Delivered mostly in Japanese, the course not only focuses in furthering students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, but aims to deepen student’s understanding of Japanese society and current issues facing Japan. The 2021 course will be offered online.

Program introduction
The Kobe Japanese Program (KJP) is designed for undergraduate or graduate students with upper elementary Japanese language skills, providing opportunities to study Japanese language and society focusing on the Kobe area and links with Australia. The focus of the course is Japanese Language and Area Studies, including culture and society, based on the Kobe and Hyogo area and its links with Australia. The 2021 course was conducted entirely online, utilizing various live teaching methods, and small class size to provide the most interactive and personal learning experience possible.

2021 Kobe University Summer Study Program
Program introduction
This program is for students who wish to experience what it is like to study and live in Japan. Participants can experience exclusive high-level courses covering a range of specialist fields, Japanese language courses, together with unique opportunities to experience Japanese culture outside the classroom. This program also offers a head start for prospective students who are considering applyling for long-term study abroad programs in the future.
Due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, the program will be taking place online in this year. The program will consist of lectures co-organized by Kobe University and several overseas universities, and the lectures will be provided in Japanese or English.
