Epilepsy affects one in every 100 people. Prof. MATSUMOTO Riki discovered a new mapping method for human brain connectivity. This method has been used clinically in many parts of the world. We interviewed him to learn about the basics of epilepsy and his recent activities.

Nanoparticles, which respond to light waves, are called “nanoantennas.” Nanoantenna particles should be suitable as biosensors and stable coloring materials. Associate Professor SUGIMOTO Hiroshi developed a unique manufacturing process for nanoantennas made from dielectric silicon.
